Scientist Ivy Medina shares with science teachers during the workshop
The BREP program in collaboration with Pfizer Inc. organized a special workshop for science teachers focusing on the importance of incorporating the scientific method in the science classroom. The workshop entitled “Integrating Research into the Science Classroom” was held at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus on January 27, 2005.
The activity was organized under the leadership of science teachers: Ms. Carmen Fernández Repollet,
Ms. Evelyn Rodríguez Maldonado, and Ms. Alma Sánchez Rivera
The Circulatory System was the theme of the fair at the Elohim School at Caguas
The Elohim School of Caguas conducted an Art Fair during the month of November 2004; the fair theme was the Circulatory System. Students presented art projects that included pictures, drawings, and sculptures of the circulatory system.
"Nurse Maggie" and BioMed Battle Team members from the Elohim School distribute information regarding
the prevention and treatment of diabetes to senior citizens during the Health Fair
More than 30 schools from the northern side of the Island
were present and have the opportunity to talk with us during the congress.

Present at this training were 26 science teachers from 14 different Intermediate Schools from the Puerto Rico
Department Education. Principal Investigator Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet with the teachers.
