PRChem 2004 Recognized K-12 Science and Technology Initiatives in Puerto Rico

"The Colegio de Quimicos de PR" in its annual conference and exhibition recognized three K-12 Science & Technologies Initiatives on the Island. The BREP program was invited to participate at the conference celebrated in the Westin Rio Mar during July 27-30, 2004. Thousands of chemists attended the conference giving us the opportunity to introduce our program to them.

and the Corporate Alliance Pro-Education.

This year conference was dedicated to K-12 initiatives: Science on Wheels, directed by Dr. Juan Lopéz Garriga from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) – Mayagüez, the Puerto Rico Math and Science Partnership, directed by Dr. Josefina Arce from the UPR – Río Piedras Campus, and the Corporate Alliance Pro-Education, directed by Mrs. Sylvette Santiago from the Puerto Rico Department of Education.

Science school teachers from all over the Island were invited to participate in the conference during which special workshops and talks were scheduled for them.

We thank the "Colegio de Quimicos de PR" for allowing us to join them and contribute to improve Puerto Rico's education especially in the areas of sciences and mathematics.
