On Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 BREP offered a workshop entitled "The Science Teacher in a Changing World". Twelve (12) science teachers from different areas of Puerto Rico participated in this professional development activity. The workshop focused on the importance of adapting to change and its impact on innovation and the educational process. The participants were provided a questionnaire which helped them assess their receptivity to change. They were also able to participate in series of interactive activities that enforced the dynamic nature of education and provided effective mechanisms to manage local and global changes. Technology change was identified by the teachers as the most serious challenge to overcome. The workshop was prepared and presented by Prof. Carmen Fernández, Ma.Ed.,CEC, from the Petra Corretjer de O'Neill High School, Manatí, Puerto Rico.
