Participation in the BREP's Summer Internship Program

The BioMed Innovation Laboratory participated in the Summer Internship Program offered by the BREP Program to middle school students. Twenty students from the school participated in a presentation held by our laboratory. The presentation focused on the basic theory and applications of the Flow Cytometry technique. During the presentation students had the opportunity to interact and understand the basics concepts of Flow Cytometry. After the presentation, they participated from a hands-on research experience in which they stained blood cells with specific antibodies, and analized the samples by Flow Cytometry. We hope this experience will stimulate their interest in biomedical research.
