The BREP Program Sponsored a Community Outreach Exhibit at Santa Rosa Mall

The Biomedical Research Education Program (BREP) with the assistance of the Elohim School of Caguas sponsored a Community Outreach Exhibit at the Santa Rosa Mall in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on April 16, 2005.


Ms. Iris Zambrana, Principal at Elohim School and Dr. Abe Schwartz, Co-Investigator of the
Biomedical Research Education Program of Puerto Rico during the community event.


Members of the BioMed Battle Team distributed relevant information and tested people's
knowledge regarding the prevention and treatment of heart diseases at the exhibit.

Student members of the BioMed Battle Team distributed relevant information regarding the prevention and treatment of heart diseases, as well as copies of the second comic book published by the BREP program: "Cardiac Crisis" to attendees at the exhibit. The students helped prepared the materials and also served as guides during the event. Hundreds of people of all ages and different communities attended the activity.
