The BREP Program receives a grant from the Pfizer Foundation

The Biomedical Research Education Program of Puerto Rico (BREP-PR), a federally funded program sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH), was awarded $30,000 by the Pfizer Foundation in Groton, Connecticut to strengthening the Professional Development Program for Science Teachers. The main goal of this component is to develop and sustain web-based initiatives focused on stimulating biomedical research activities in the classroom, as well as interactions among teachers, students and investigators participating in the program. The first installment of the award was presented by Mr. Jorge Gonzalez-Monclova, Director of Community Relations and Public Affairs and Ms. María Machado, Manager and Team Leader Technical Services, from Pfizer Inc. to Dr. Emma Fernandez-Repollet, Principal Investigator of the BREP program at the program facilities.
