Mr. Felipe N. Padilla Álvarez joins the Biomedical Research Education Program as the new Director of Education in Investigation

Mr. Felipe N. Padilla Álvarez joins the Puerto Rico Biomedical Research Education Program (PR-BREP) as the new Director of Research Education. Mr. Padilla was born in Ciales, P.R. and attended the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus were he completed a Bachelor in Sciences with a major in Biology.

After college he joined the U.S. Army where he completed 22 years of active service. During his time in the service he was assigned to the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Washington D.C. and the Tripler Army Medical Center HI. Mr. Padilla received several military awards. His performance during his military career include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He has coauthored several scientific publications and patents and participated in the Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) program at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
